Located in the tourism haven of Alanya, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU), one of Turkey’s rising universities, continues to make significant contributions to the scientific community through its academic studies and innovative projects. With its pet food and compost production facility and zero-waste initiatives, the university also contributes to both the national and institutional economy.
Situated in the heart of Alanya, a renowned tourism hub, ALKU is rapidly advancing toward becoming the leading university in its region. With a strong presence in scientific and social domains, it plays a pioneering role in both research and community-oriented efforts.
Founded in April 2015, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University comprises 10 faculties, 5 vocational schools, 1 school of higher education, and 1 graduate institute. With approximately 591 academic staff and nearly 16,000 students, the university continues to grow under the guidance of Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan, increasing its impact in the fields of science, health, sports, arts, and technology.
“From the day we were founded until today—9 years on—we’ve been shedding light on Turkey’s future through our achievements in science, health, sports, arts, and technology,” said Rector Türkdoğan.
Thanks to its successful academic programs, impactful regional projects, employment-guaranteed agreements for students, and the development of a major new campus featuring health and sports facilities, ALKU has become a top choice among university applicants. In the most recent YKS 2023 placement results, the university achieved a 98.72% occupancy rate, placing it among the most preferred universities in Turkey.
Construction is progressing rapidly on the Cikcilli Campus, located in Alanya’s Cikcilli neighborhood. This new campus is set to be the largest university campus in the region, and will include:
Faculty of Medicine & University Hospital
Central Research Laboratory

ALKU has also made headlines with its Solar Power Plant (GES) Project located at its Kestel Campus, the first of its kind in Turkey’s public sector implemented through a performance contract. Thanks to this project, the university met 100% of its energy needs for the months of March, April, May, and June from solar energy alone—generating 527,548 TL in revenue during that period.
